Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal is operated by TAV Airports offering a new dimension in tourism and trade volume to Turkey's third largest city. Izmir plays host to thousands of tourists each year. Thanks to its surroundings with high tourism potential, Izmir is well positioned to become Turkey's newest tourism destination. Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal occupies a 108,000 m2 area and was opened in September 2006. Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal has the latest state of the art technology systems and provides services 24 hours a day - 365 days a year. Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal's modern architecture, passenger flow dynamics and service quality make it one of the top airports in Europe. The architectural standard was rewarded with the 2006 TUCSA (Turkish Structural Steel Society) and 2007 European Steel Design Awards. Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal services 40 to 45 flights per day and caters to close to five thousand passengers. In peak periods these figures rise to 10,000 passengers and 70 to 80 flights per day. Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal hosts some 85 airlines from all corners of the globe and reaches out to 49 countries, with a total of 121 destinations. Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal is equipped with the most advanced aviation systems such as the CUTE, a system that connects international airlines with a single application, thereby avoiding separate baggage check-ins for transfers, and with automated baggage handling systems capable of sorting five thousand pieces per hour. Each piece of baggage is scanned with the Explosive Detection System in six separate stages prior to loading at Adnan Menderes Airport facilitating 100 percent baggage monitoring. A second factor in the security system is the Baggage Reconciliation System, which couples the baggage loaded with boarding passengers.

Food and Drink at Adnan Menderes Airport International Airport is provided by the following establishments. Gloria Jean's Café, which offers 91 different types of coffee and a wide variety of cakes, is located in two different locations in the airport and is open 24 hours a day. The first is on the International Departures floor and the second is on the International Arrivals floor, before the passport checkpoint. Ephesus Café is located on the International Arrivals Floor, the Ephesus Café is a great place for resting after the journey or relaxing once passengers have arrived. Offering a rich selection of drinks and special foods in a warm environment, the Ephesus Café also has plasma screens where guests can view sports events. Beer Port Bar is located on the International Departures floor, just after the passport checkpoint and left of the shopping area, the Beer Port Bar has been decorated in the style of an English pub. Open 24 hours a day, this bar offers a wide variety of light snacks and salads and a rich selection of refreshments. Set in an exclusive and pleasant environment this venue is enjoyed by passengers who wish to relax before their flights. The international fast-food chain, Burger King, operates under BTA in two locations in the terminal. The first Burger King is located on the International Departures floor, on the mezzanine before the passport checkpoint and is open between 07.00 - 03.00; the second Burger King is in the Food Court on the right hand side, after the passport checkpoint and is open between 07.00 - 01.00. Ton-Ton is the place to go where one can find a rich and tasty selection of traditional Turkish cuisine items like pitas, lahmacun, mantı, doner, grilled meats and Turkish desserts. It is located on the International Departures floor in the Food Court on the mezzanine before the passport checkpoint. It is open for service between 08.00-24.00.

Café Izmir is located on the International Departures floor, before the passport checkpoint and across from ticket counter zone number 66, Café Izmir offers a wide variety of refreshments, fresh borek, croissants, desserts and a rich selection of sandwiches 24 hours a day. Offering 91 different types of coffee and a wide variety of cakes, Gloria Jean's Café is located in two different locations in the airport and is open 24 hours a day. The first is on the International Departures floor and the second is on the International Arrivals floor, before the passport checkpoint. Plane-T is located in the Food Court in the mezzanine before the passport checkpoint, on the International Departures floor, Plane-T offers a wide variety of refreshments and desserts and a rich selection of sandwiches. Kiosks are located close to flight gates and offering sandwiches and cocktails, the kiosks are the last stops for food consumption before the flight. The kiosks are generally open for service at flight times and closed at other times. The Coca Cola Kiosk, located across flight gate number 28, is open for service at flight times. The Efe Kiosk, located across flight gate number 33, is open for service at flight times. The Coca Cola Bus Lounge, located between flight gates number 101 and 104, is open for service at flight times. The Douwe Egberts Kiosk, located between flight gates number 111 and 114, is open for service at flight times.

Duty Free Shops at Adnan Menderes Airport International Airport is provided by ATÜ. ATÜ, which operates the largest Duty Free Store in Turkey, has 9 Duty Free Shops in the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal. While the Main Duty Free Shop situated in the Departures Terminal and the Gate Shop, situated in the boarding bridges area, are designed to meet the last minute shopping needs of departing passengers, there are also two symmetrical Duty Free Shops in the Arrivals Terminal where incoming passengers can shop. On the International Arrivals Floor there are two symmetrical Duty Free Shops located directly in front of the baggage conveyor belts on the Arrivals Floor. They have on offer alcohol, perfumes, cosmetics, chocolate and cigars, as well as a wide variety of other products. There are souvenir shops on the Departures level of the terminal offering a wide range of souvenirs specific to Turkey and Izmir. There are two Bookshops which offer local and foreign publications, as well as music and films on CD or DVD at two shops on the Departures level, landside and airside. Buffet packaged food and drinks are available at the buffet that also offers gifts such as Turkish Delight and candied chestnuts.

The Atasay, D&R, Mavi Jeans, Samsonite and Setur shops situated in the Departures Terminal, also operate under ATÜ. At the main Duty Free Shop on the International Departures Level passengers can select products as they wish, as well as consult experts. New products can be tested at the shop, which offers a wide variety of shopping alternatives and various promotions and contains alcohol, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics and chocolate. The Accessories Shop located within the Main Duty Free Shop has on offer a variety of world famous brand products such as jewelry, watches, bags, wallets, glasses and belts. The Gate Shop is located in the boarding bridges area and designed to meet last minute shopping needs, has on offer popular products such as perfumes, alcohol, tobacco and chocolate. Atasay Jewelry was founded in 1989 by Atasay Kamer, who transformed Turkish jewelry into an industry, Atasay Jewelry is placed second in the world after Italy and is the biggest company in the Turkish jewelry industry. A variety of jewelry collections, including diamonds, gold and special designs, are on sale at Atasay Jewelry, situated in the International Departures Terminal. The D&R Shop is a member of the DoÄŸan Media Group and was founded in November 1996. As of 2008, D&R has a total of 79 shops in Istanbul and all over Turkey and maintains its market leadership. D&R serves passengers through two sales points located on the Land and Air side of the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal's Departures Floor. In the D&R shops passengers can find all kinds of Turkish and international publications, music and film CDs and DVDs.

Mavi Jeans, whose target market consists especially of young people, was founded in Istanbul in 1991 and has been a market leader in Turkey since 1996. Mavi Jeans serves its customers in more than four thousand shops distributed throughout 50 countries, including U.S.A., Canada, Germany, Australia, U.K., Denmark, Italy and Netherlands. Mavi Jeans has also flagship shops in Istanbul, New York, Vancouver, Montreal, Berlin and Frankfurt. Located in the Adnan Menderes Airport International Departures Terminal, Mavi Jeans has on offer the Mavi Jeans collections available on the domestic market. Samsonite Luggage was founded in 1910 in Colorado, U.S.A., with the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company. Samsonite, which has launched its quality throughout the world via the slogan “Life's a Journey,” became a worldwide brand in 1965. Located in the International Departures Terminal, Samsonite offers a variety of alternatives, from multipurpose travel bags to laptop cases and backpacks. Setur was founded in 1964, following the enactment of the law permitting duty free shops to operate in Turkey. The first company in the country to offer Duty Free services, Setur currently maintains its activities in this field and also operates as a travel agency. Located in the International Terminal's Departures Floor, Setur offers luxury brand jewelry, accessories, stationery, clothes, etc.

The Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal has five CIP lounges. The Millennium Lounge currently provides services to all First Class and Business passengers from all airlines as well as Is Bank credit card holders. Snacks, prepared fresh each day, alcoholic and soft drinks, fresh fruits and sandwiches are available at the Millennium Lounge. There is also fax, internet access and telephone services. Privileged passengers can relax in easy chairs, reading local or foreign papers or watch TV as they wait to board their flight. The Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal has a Press Room and a further conference room, the Smyrna. Passengers who wish to hold a meeting at the airport can also use the fully equipped TAV meeting room. Porter services are available for those occasions when baggage trolleys aren't big enough to carry all that a passenger needs to carry.The porter services are located at the entrances to the International Departures level and by the baggage belts on the Arrivals level.

The Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal Lost and Found Office aims to reunite items lost in the terminal as well as the car park with their owners. A baggage check room offers services at the Arrivals Floor adjacent to the Lost and Found Office. The Electronic Check Room offers 24/7 self-service. The lockers can be rented for maximum of 192 hours and the fees are: Small Locker: 10.00 YTL / Mid-Size Locker: 20.00 YTL / Large Locker: 30.00 YTL / The Largest Locker: 40.00 YTL.

Health services are offered by the Port Clinic and Public Health Services at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. They have an intensive care unit that is fully equipped and a medical team consisting of a doctor, an anesthesia technician, and a driver trained to give emergency first-aid. PortClinic services are 24/7 in both the domestic and the international terminals. Public Health Services also offers quarantine and environmental health services.

Adnan Menderes International Terminal car park has five entrances and five exits and a total of three pay booths. Two of the pay booths are located by the exits. The terminal car park uses systems technology. The car park connects to Arrivals on Level 2 and Departures on Level 3 by two bridges, of two levels each. The main entrance to the car park has been designed with five entrance points and barriers and is located opposite the entrance to the International Terminal. The exit includes three automatic and two cash point exit booths. The car park has a total capacity of over 2300 vehicles. In addition, there are two coach parks, both with two entrances and two exits each. Finally, there is a VIP car park with a single entrance and a single exit with a button-controlled barrier. Pedestrian access is through a total of eight staircases - seven of which reach all floors, while one goes only to the Second Floor, and six lifts. Pedestrian routes in the car park are designed to lead directly to the lifts.
